We are seeking a full-time Environmental Services Supervisor to lead housekeeping operations and ensure high standards of cleanliness, quality, and safety. Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services (EVS), this role supervises and trains staff, promotes safe practices, and supports day-to-day team operations.
Candidates should have at least three (3) years of EVS experience in a healthcare or senior living setting, including cleaning, floor care, and fabric care, plus three (3) years of supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, staff training, performance management, and documentation is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee EVS staff and daily operations to ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
Conduct regular inspections of resident units, common areas, and healthcare spaces to ensure compliance with established standards and survey readiness.
Assign and monitor daily work, ensuring timely and quality completion of all housekeeping duties.
Train, coach, and support staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, infection control practices, and proper equipment use.
Communicate effectively with staff, leadership, residents, and visitors; escalate operational concerns and service issues as needed.
Support quality assurance programs, compliance audits, and accurate departmental documentation.
Manage staffing schedules and provide coverage for absences, weekends, holidays, special events, and on-call needs.
Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of resident rooms, common areas, and ancillary spaces in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
Coordinate with other departments to support smooth operations and high levels of resident satisfaction.
Oversee inventory control, supply ordering, and equipment maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, work orders, and departmental activities.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of three (3) years of progressive EVS experience in a long-term care, CCRC, or hospital setting, including cleaning, floor care, and fabric care.
At least three (3) years of lead or supervisory experience overseeing a large EVS team.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to lead by example and work independently or as part of a team.
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work respectfully and compassionately with older adults while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Knowledge of cleaning procedures, floor care techniques, equipment operation, and safe chemical handling.
Basic computer proficiency and ability to use standard office equipment and software.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and move throughout a large facility for extended periods.
Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted and up to 50 lbs. with assistance or appropriate equipment.
