JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Technical Consultant, you will be a lead architect and problem-solver,
empowering clients to navigate the "Modern Data Stack" using Data
Virtualization. You will bridge the gap between traditional data warehousing and
modern Data Lakehouse architectures. Your mission is to help global clients
integrate fragmented data across Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery,
and on-premise systems without the cost and latency of traditional ETL.

 


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

* Architectural Strategy: Design and implement Logical Data
Warehouses and Virtual Data Marts that enable sub-second Business
Intelligence over distributed cloud ecosystems. 

* High-Performance Query Optimization: Apply your expertise in Query
Federation and Pushdown optimization to ensure high-performance analytics
across diverse platforms. 

* Cloud Ecosystem Modernization: Lead the migration and integration of
hybrid-cloud data ecosystems, specifically focusing on GCP (BigQuery),
Databricks, AWS, Azure (MS Fabric), and SaaS platforms (Snowflake). 

* Technical Advisory: Serve as the subject matter expert on Enterprise
Architecture, addressing complex questions regarding customization,
integration, and performance tuning for worldwide clients. 

* Knowledge Leadership: Promote best practices in Data Mesh and Data
Fabric patterns, providing feedback to Product Management to influence the
future of the Denodo Platform. 


DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The Ideal Candidate has 3-15 years of experience and a deep background in one or
more of the following: 

* Databricks/Spark: Deep understanding of Delta Lake, Spark SQL, and Photon
engine optimizations. 
* Starburst/Trino: Expertise in query federation, distributed SQL execution,
and connectivity to diverse catalogs.
* Snowflake/BigQuery: Experience managing large-scale cloud data warehouses,
including external tables and cross-cloud integration.
* Microsoft Fabric: Familiarity with OneLake and the integration of Synapse,
Power BI, and Data Factory. 

Required Technical Competencies: 

* SQL Mastery: Exceptional SQL skills and a deep grasp of relational and
analytical database management theory. 
* Modern API Knowledge: Strong experience with REST/Web Services APIs, JDBC,
and XML.
* Infrastructure & DevOps: Solid understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and
Linux/Unix server environments.
* Data Integration Patterns: Proven experience with ETL/ELT, Data Warehouse
architectures, and integration with packaged apps (SAP, Oracle, BI tools).
* Education & Communication: University Degree in Computer Science or
Information Systems with excellent verbal/written communication skills for
both technical and executive audiences. 
* Fluent in English, Spanish & Portuguese 

Bonus Points: 

* Proficiency in French or German to support our worldwide client base. 
* Experience with Git or other version control systems in a data-engineering
context.
