THE OPPORTUNITY
We are hiring a Latam Tax Compliance Director for our Finance - Tax & Treasury team in São Paulo!
This role joins our corporate finance organization, leading the critical Latam tax compliance function. You will define regional compliance strategies, drive large-scale digital and AI-driven automation initiatives, and ensure governance excellence across diverse jurisdictions. This is an exceptional opportunity to transform regional tax operations and partner directly with global leaders to support Wellhub's continued growth and innovation.
YOUR IMPACT
Define and execute the regional tax compliance strategy, aligning it with broader financial objectives while establishing robust governance frameworks and risk management protocols across all Latam jurisdictions.
Provide executive oversight of all direct and indirect tax filings, ensuring total compliance with local statutory deadlines and proactively managing risk in evolving regulatory environments.
Lead relationships with local tax BPOs and external advisors, maintaining strict alignment on technical tax positions, corporate standards, and service delivery quality.
Partner with cross-functional teams, including Controllership, FP&A, Legal, Product Development, and Tax Controversy, to embed tax compliance into business planning, decision-making, and strategic responses to tax authority audits.
Champion and drive digital transformation, defining the roadmap for large-scale AI, tax technology integrations, and ERP automation platforms to enhance operational accuracy and scalability.
Develop and oversee enterprise-grade dashboards and KPIs to provide real-time compliance monitoring and transparent risk visibility to senior leadership.
Monitor regulatory intelligence across Latin America, translating legislative changes into actionable policies, while building strategic relationships with tax authorities and industry bodies.

WHO YOU ARE
A seasoned tax leader with relevant years of progressive experience in tax compliance, including at least 4 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-jurisdictional functions within complex, multinational environments.
An expert in Latam tax systems who possesses deep technical knowledge of Brazilian federal and state taxes (IRPJ, CSLL, PIS, COFINS, ICMS, ISS) along with solid exposure to other major Latin American jurisdictions.
An educationally grounded professional holding a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, or a related field; an MBA, Master's in Taxation, or a CPA/equivalent professional certification is strongly preferred.
A tech-forward innovator with demonstrated experience leading large-scale technology implementations, AI-driven tax technologies, ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle), and tax automation tools.
An analytical strategist capable of leveraging data analytics to build executive-level compliance scorecards, performance dashboards, and corporate tracking systems.
A strong communicator and influencer with proven executive presence and the unique ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable business strategies for C-suite stakeholders.
A multilingual professional with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Portuguese and English; fluency or professional proficiency in Spanish is a strong asset.
A governance-focused expert with familiarity or hands-on experience in the implementation and execution of SOX controls.
