About the Client & The Opportunity
Our client is a highly specialized engineering pioneer and a definitive leader in thermal valorization, flue-gas treatment, and advanced fluidized-bed systems. They design, build, and deploy high-tech, modular infrastructure that converts municipal wastewater sludge liabilities and incineration capabilities into clean, circular-economy energy.
They are expanding their footprint into Spain following major international momentum, including flagship municipal infrastructure operations across Europe and landmark global technology licensing partnerships for their proprietary modular fluid-bed systems. They are seeking a senior commercial leader to own the regional strategy, leverage deep institutional connections, and secure public tenders across Spain's local communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Leverage Local Administration Networks: Map, deploy, and actively utilize pre-existing connections within Spanish municipalities and local public administrations to source, qualify, and secure high-value public infrastructure and thermal recovery projects.
Champion the Product Portfolio: Act as the technical authority on the ground, translating complex municipal wastewater liabilities into high-margin, turnkey solutions using the client's core technologies: advanced fluidized-bed systems, thermal valorization units, and flue-gas treatment.
Command Public Tenders: Take absolute oversight of the end-to-end bidding process, ensuring technical and commercial proposals are completely compliant under the Ley de Contratos del Sector Público.
Build Institutional Relationships: Establish and protect multi-layered relationships with public officials, municipal engineers, urban planners, and the key decision-makers who control public utility budgets.
Market & Regulatory Tracking: Monitor shifting environmental regulations, European green funding allocations, and waste-management legislative updates across Spain to position these modular systems for victory long before an official tender is ever published.
Candidate Profile:
Local Government Network: 8 to 10 years of proven experience selling complex, high-value technical, environmental, or wastewater infrastructure solutions directly to Spanish local administrations and municipal authorities. An active, pre-existing network in this specific sector is mandatory.
Procurement Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience navigating the Spanish public procurement framework and managing complex public bids.
Technical Product Alignment: A solid technical or engineering background, providing the intellectual weight required to confidently discuss complex thermal, fluid, mechanical, or environmental processes with veteran municipal engineers.
Mobility: High energy for national territory management and a total willingness to travel extensively across Spain to embed oneself where key administrative decisions are made.
Language Skills: Native Spanish for local negotiations, paired with professional fluency in English OR French to collaborate seamlessly with the client's international engineering headquarters.
