The Role
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will support engineering activities during the Conceptual and Basic Design phases of pharmaceutical facility and manufacturing projects. You will be responsible for developing User Requirement Specifications (URS), conducting risk assessments, performing process engineering calculations, and supporting the design of pharmaceutical systems, equipment, and cleanroom facilities.
This role requires close collaboration with clients, users, multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, and external partners to ensure successful project delivery within GMP-regulated environments.

Support process engineering activities during the Conceptual and Basic Design phases of pharmaceutical projects.
Develop and review User Requirement Specifications (URS), technical specifications, process calculations, and risk assessments.
Contribute to the design and evaluation of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, process equipment, and utility systems.
Support the design and review of systems such as CIP units, washing machines, isolators, and other process-related equipment.
Prepare and review engineering documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and design reports.
Perform material, mass, energy, and utility balance calculations and support equipment sizing activities.
Work closely with clients, end users, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to define and deliver project requirements.
Participate in GMP risk assessments, HAZID workshops, design reviews, and technical discussions throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure technical solutions meet project, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Support project execution from concept development through detailed design while ensuring delivery in line with project schedules and objectives.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience delivering process engineering activities within large-scale pharmaceutical, biotech, API, or other GMP-regulated CAPEX projects.
Proven experience supporting projects from concept and basic design through detailed design and implementation.
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, process equipment, cleanroom facilities, and utility systems.
Hands-on experience developing and reviewing engineering deliverables, including URSs, process risk assessments, process calculations, PFDs, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
Solid understanding of GMP requirements, quality risk management principles, and pharmaceutical engineering standards.
Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams and collaborating with clients, end users, suppliers, and external partners.
Ability to analyse complex technical challenges and develop practical, compliant engineering solutions.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills in an international project environment.
Self-motivated, structured, and proactive professional with a collaborative approach and strong attention to detail.
