Your Responsibilities:
The General Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role supports month-end and year-end closing activities, account reconciliations, tax compliance, and audit requirements. The General Accountant works closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for:
Accounting Operations
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Support
- Review and monitor accounts payable and receivable activities.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies and payment issues.
- Ensure timely processing and recording of invoices and payments.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Maintain proper documentation and accounting records.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting procedures and internal controls.
Tax and Regulatory Support
- Assist with VAT and other statutory declarations.
- Support tax audits and requests from regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with external advisors when necessary.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
- Participate in ERP and finance system optimization projects.
What We're Looking For:
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in general accounting or financial accounting.
Experience in an international or multi-entity environment is preferred.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, etc.) is an advantage.
Languages: NAtive level in French. B2 level in English.
Communication: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of French accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot table)
Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
Understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate in a diverse and dynamic environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Team-oriented with a proactive and hands-on approach.
