Edinburgh Dental Specialists is looking for a motivated and patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our highly respected specialist practice in the heart of Edinburgh.

The Role
Saturdays - 9:00am – 1:00pm to start with a view to increase days
Established patient list from day one
Fully private practice
Modern clinical environment with advanced dental technology
Full support from an experienced nursing and administrative team
You must be a GDC-registered Dental Hygienist with a passion for delivering high-quality preventative and periodontal care.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver a full range of dental hygiene treatments, including scaling, polishing, and non-surgical periodontal therapy
Assess patients’ oral health and identify signs of periodontal disease
Provide preventative treatments and oral health advice
Educate and motivate patients to maintain excellent oral hygiene
Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment notes
Adhere to all infection prevention and control protocols
Work collaboratively with specialists, dentists, and the wider practice team
Deliver an exceptional patient experience through clear communication and compassionate care
Participate in continuing professional development and maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge
Essential Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene
Current General Dental Council (GDC) registration
Valid DBS/PVG clearance
Previous experience working as a Dental Hygienist
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and clinical abilities
Commitment to delivering outstanding patient care
Confident using digital clinical systems and technology
Desirable
Experience managing periodontal patients
Experience working within a specialist or referral environment
Interest in patient education and preventative dentistry
Familiarity with digital dentistry and modern clinical technologies
