POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Certified Supervisor of Peers will be responsible for the supervision, development, performance management, and support of a team of our knowledgeable and thoroughly trained Peer Support Staff. The CSPS will have the opportunity to move fluidly between duties such as answering staff questions, providing coaching, and generally overseeing workflow to support efficient, high quality service delivery. In coordination with the program outcomes, you may also support the team through new hire training activities.
The CSPS will function as a role model to Peers, exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills, serve as an advocate. The range of activities include advocacy, linkage to resources, sharing of experience, community and relationship building, group facilitation, skill building, mentoring and goal setting for individuals.
The CSPS focuses on work tasks and productively using time and energy, presenting a positive disposition, maintaining constructive interpersonal relationships and developing and maintaining appropriate self-care strategies to alter conditions that create stress and to sustain physical and mental health for self and others.
Successful Candidate will be supported in receiving the Gorski Relapse Prevention Training
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
Certified Peer Specialist Supervisor
Minimum of 2 years experience working with individuals who have addiction or behavioral health issues, required
Experience in a role supervising others
Experience in behavioral health field
Experience working in peer led services.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Computer experience and proficiency.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information professionally and within the policy and procedures of the agency
